Federal and Local Universal Service Program
WorldNet Telecommunications, Inc, provider of telecommunication solutions, offers a subsidy for your
primary residential telephone line under the program Federal and Local Universal Service. This program
allows you to save in your monthly rental charges and in the installation and activation of a residential
telephone service (fixed).
LIFELINE
Provides a maximum $13.50 monthly subsidy to cover access and/or rental charges, under the
Federal and Local Universal Service Program.
LINK-UP
Through the Federal and Local Universal Service Program, Link-Up reduces by half (or $30.00, whichever
is less) your telephone service installation or activation costs.
To be eligible, your income should be under the levels established by the Federal Poverty Guidelines. To
verify eligibility, all income in your family group is taken into account. You must provide copy of one of
the following documents:
- Recent Income Tax Return
- Employment verification including salary, accompanied by check stub
- Letter or verifications of Social Security income
- Letter or verification of income as a War Veteran
- Recent account statement detailing retirement income
- Recent account statement detailing unemployment or disability income
- Divorce decree or ASUME certification
You can also be eligible if you are enrolled in any of the following federal or local welfare programs:
- Nutritional Assistance Program, Family Department
- Section 8 Program, Family Department
- Energy Assistance for Low Income Homes Program, Family Department
- Medicaid, Health Department
- School Lunch Program, Education Department
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
