WorldNet Telecommunications completed the construction of a fiber-optic ring in the Metropolitan Area – an important infrastructure project that will allow them to offer higher capacity to their clients and expand their product and service portfolio.
"This fiber-optic ring gives us the necessary infrastructure to offer our clients
higher bandwidth and more reliable service as they no longer depend on copper
lines, as well as giving us the opportunity to expand our range of products and
services", explained David Bogaty, president of WorldNet Telecommunications.
Bogaty indicated that this infrastructure project, which required an investment
of almost $200,000, will allow WorldNet to use its own data transmission network
- resulting in operational cost savings as they no longer depend on other companies'
infrastructure.
"We can now offer greater bandwidth as well as a scalable service that adjusts
itself to the client's needs without requiring the purchase of additional equipment
or the construction of new facility as the client grows. Also, because we're
using fiber optics, we don't depend on the old copper infrastructure and there
is no degradation of service", stated Bogaty.
The executive also noted that this project allows them to become a wholesale vendor of bandwidth.
The fiber-optic ring covers the areas surrounding Metro Office Park, Caparra, Buchanan and Pueblo Viejo. Bogaty indicated that WorldNet plans to continue growing in this area and is analyzing potential sites for the construction of new fiber-optic facilities
