WorldNet Telecommunications announced the completion of an ambitious network expansion project that would allow them to offer data and telephony services to 21 new municipalities and increases their capacity to offer services by 41%.
"This expansion is an increase of 41% in our capacity to serve new clients. To achieve this we have invested $1.5 million in the construction of 28 new remote offices all over Puerto Rico, which not only lets us enter new areas but also reinforces our presence in the metropolitan area," expressed David Bogaty, president and founder of WorldNet.
According to Bogaty, the expansion of the network is vital to ensure WorldNet’s continued growth. "With this expansion we are ideally positioned to offer our clients the solutions to their businesses’ Internet and telephony needs. Our network is the only one in Puerto Rico that can be described as 100% VoIP, which offers us various advantages in the variety of services that we offer as well as in our costs.", said Bogaty.
Among the advantages of this project, he highlighted the fact that it allows them to control operational costs, savings that are then passed to the client through next generation services and competitive rates. "With this project we expand the client’s options, which no longer needs to be content with only one provider", he commented.
The construction of these new installations allows the company to accelerate the migration of clients who still receive service through rented facilities to their new network and gives them greater speed and control when responding to service situations.
Bogaty underlined that this project, begun in the summer of 2009, is a fundamental part of the company’s new evolutionary phase. "We are moving in a coordinated fashion on several fronts: strengthening our offers through the offering of complete telecommunications solutions, optimizing the quality of service that we offer the client and expanding our area of coverage," he indicated.
Among the new municipalities that have been added to WorldNet’s services zones are: Humacao, Manatí, Trujillo Alto, Arecibo, Cayey, Yauco, Aguadilla, Cataño, Las Piedras, Vega Alta, Vega Baja, San Germán, Cidra, Juncos, San Sebastián, Aibonito, Camuy, Hatillo, Hormigueros, Guayama and Canóvanas.
WorldNet inaugurated the first phase of its 100% VoIP network in 2006, after an investment of about $40 million.
