Bids Procurement Report
Vol.16 No.24
The first phase for the construction of Ramallo International
Center in Caguas was awarded to Aireko Construction Corporation
at a cost of approximately $24 million.
The project is located on about 60 acres of
land in La Muda Sector on Highway 1, old Río Piedras-Caguas
Road.
Phase one includes the construction of a 27,000-square foot art
printing building to house the Ramallo Bros. printing office headquarters,
manufacturing area, storage and loading/unloading area.
The construction of a 107,000 square foot building is also contemplated
for Caribbean Forms, a commercial printing affiliate of Ramallo
Art-Printing.
Structural steel with pre-cast tilt-up panels are the design selection
to build these structures over driven piles foundation method.
Each building will have employees and visitors parking. A day care
center of 2,000-square feet will be part of phase one.
Site work includes an off-site sanitary force line of approximately
5 kilometers along PR-1 to connect to Santa Clara pumping station.
A 72-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe will be installed at
the east side of the complex.
A new traffic light intersection with desacceleration and acceleration
lanes is required to be constructed, thus improving the exit to
Highway 1.
